The Canal du Midi

The channel of the South (Canal du Midi) or channel of the Two-Seas (canal des Deux-Mers) is a French channel which connects the Garonne to the Mediterranean. It provides, with the side channel in the Garonne, an inland waterway of the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. It was prolonged through the Rhone with Sète.
Since 1996, it is classified in the list of the inheritance of humanity by UNESCO.
