Local gastronomy is inspired by Italian migrants who came to Sète, and by local seafood products.

Sète's cooking is very tasty : monkfish speciality ("la bourride de baudroie), fish soup ("la bouillabaisse"), mussels and stuffed squids, pasta preparation ("la macaronade"), tomato and octopus pie ("la tielle"), tomato, garlic and sepia dish ("la rouille de seiche")... are just a few specialities you can taste in one of the 80 restaurants in Sète.
